Social Networks, Technology and Godliness

Monday, April 21, 2008

Kenneth Maresco, Executive Pastor at Covenant Life Church, taught an excellent lesson on Technology, Social Networking and Godliness to the Students and Parents at Covenant Life. I suggest everyone who has children, will have children, deal with technology by way of cellular phones, computers, telephones, etc, listen to his message. It is relatively short, can be downloaded in minutes, synced to your iPod and listened to on your hour lunch break. You can access it here and download “Part 5” of “Push Back” from March 8, 2008 or downloaded directly here. Let me give you a “light-bulb” moment…. if you’re reading this post, you fit the category I listed above as one who should listen to it.

He reveals some great insight into how quickly technology changes and how important it is that we know what is going on and how we can assist our children, ourselves, spouses, friends in dealing with these changes and availabilities.

As Christians we should look to capture these for the good of the Kingdom and use what all means are available to further the Kingdom and His work WITHOUT becoming ensnared, entrapped by it.

During the talk, Mr. Maresco mentions several passages from the book of Ephesians. Here is a link to sermons which the pastor at Christ Church gave from the book of Ephesians.

Ephesians’ audios

Also, at Christ Church, we are working through the book of Colossians. Several audios which would be of assistance after listening to Mr. Maresco’s audio would be Colossians 2:5-7 and Colossians 2:8 (part1 and part 2). All of ‘to-date’ Colossians audios may be accessed here.
